Events
Once a year Music Wizard presents our Performer Showcase . This year’s recital was held at Lexmedia, the Lexington’s cable access channel. Students had fun performing under the lights in front of multiple cameras and a live TV studio audience – not quite American Idol, but almost. All performers received a DVD to watch their performance and learn from the visual as well as auditory medium. Our TV performance was directed by Emmy Award winning producer Ken Willinger and edited by our friends over at Gifford Productions in Newton.
Music Wizard students also have several chances to perform at charitable occasions and night club venues throughout the year. A favorite of ours is Club Passim in Harvard Square, Cambridge, to raise money and bring food products for Cambridge food pantries. Besides giving our artists a chance to be on a real stage in front of family & friends, our performers learn from getting real time feedback from their audience.
